Braces & clear aligners

Orthodontics is about more than straight teeth. Correct tooth position improves the bite, makes cleaning easier and reduces the risk of food retention, decay between the teeth and gum inflammation. At SVEDENT in Sofia we treat children, teenagers and adults.

When should you book an orthodontic consultation?

It is worth having your bite assessed if you notice:

  • crowded, rotated or spaced teeth
  • an incorrect bite or facial asymmetry
  • difficulty cleaning between the teeth
  • early signs of bite development problems in children

An individual plan for every smile

Before treatment we examine and analyse your case, then choose the approach that fits your age, needs and expectations — braces or clear aligners. We explain what can be achieved, roughly how long it will take and what maintenance will be needed.

The goal is not simply straight teeth, but stable function, easier hygiene and a smile you wear with confidence.

Frequently asked questions

At what age should a child first see an orthodontist?

Around age 7 is a good time for a first orthodontic assessment — early signs of bite problems can be guided while the jaw is still growing. For adults, there is no upper age limit for treatment.

Braces or clear aligners — which is better?

Both can achieve excellent results. The right choice depends on your specific case, age and lifestyle. We recommend an option after the orthodontic analysis, and explain the trade-offs honestly.

How long does orthodontic treatment take?

Most treatments take 12–24 months, depending on the complexity of the case and how consistently aligners are worn or appointments are kept.

Will I need a retainer afterwards?

Yes. Retention is part of every plan — it is what keeps the new tooth position stable after the active treatment ends.
